Manila Bulletin To Launch Online Jobsite At Job Fair

POSTED ONLINE: November 6, 2012, 6:44pm

MANILA, Philippines --- Manila Bulletin, The Philippines’ Leading National Newspaper, will launch its online jobsite, www.mbclassified.com , at the Manila Bulletin “Job Fair Extreme” at the Megatrade Hall of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City on November 12-13, 2012.

PC Express, one of the largest computer DIY retail stores in the country, will provide computer terminals for jobseekers to access the online jobsite, register, and submit their resumés directly. PLDT-MyDSL, one of the leading broadband service providers, will provide Internet access.

Jobseekers who will visit the mbclassfiedjobs.com booth at the job fair will find registering and uploading their resumés faster and more convenient. It will require one to log on to www.mbclassifiedjobs.com , click on the “Jobseeker Login” tab/box on the login page, complete the short registration process by filling out the required fields and clicking “Submit” (a policy/agreement box will appear; click “Agree” to continue the process), create a new tab to open one’s registered email account (a confirmation that one’s account is activated will be sent), and complete the online resumé.

“The better outcome of this will be the pairing system, which automatically sends SMS notifications when one applies for a specific position,” said Manila Bulletin Online Marketing Head Niño Dela Paz. “That pairing system [will] immediately pair the job position you have applied for to the employers’ side.”

After accomplishing the steps, jobseekers may then log in and complete their online resumés. Registrants are advised to bring soft copies of their resumés with photos for faster processing.

Dela Paz cited the active database of mbclassifiedjobs.com helping both jobseekers and employers, because the entire list that they will see in the jobsite will be updated.

“If one already has a job and didn’t log in to his account within three months, the jobsite will put his account in the archives,” he said.

The job fair, the second one launched by Manila Bulletin in Metro Manila for this year, is expected to draw more than 4,000 jobseekers. Employment opportunities from the engineering, accounting, nursing, retail, and business process outsourcing (BPO) industries will be made available for jobseekers.

The mbclassifiedjobs.com booth will be one of over 50 participating companies present during the job fair.

Other sponsors of the job fair are Manila Bulletin’s sister publications Tempo and Balita, Anchor Land Holdings, Inc., Infosys, and Netopia.
